Jet Boat + Kepler Track Hike

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! Your friendly guide will either pick you up from your Te Anau accommodation or meet you at the Fiordland Jet Office right in the heart of the town.

Kicking things off, the Fiordland Jet team will take you on an exhilarating wilderness jet boat ride. Feel the rush as you speed down the majestic Waiau River famous for its beautiful LOTR scenes, and onto the stunning Lake Manapouri and pristine Shallow Bay. Here, the crystal-clear waters and white sandy shores set the stage for the next part of your journey.

Step off the boat and onto the picturesque Kepler trail that hugs the lake's edge, winding through serene mountain and red beech forests. This well-maintained path offers a gentle gradient, making it accessible for all fitness levels. Along the way, your expert Trips & Tramps guide will bring the surroundings to life, sharing fascinating insights into the beech forest's ecological cycle and the community's conservation efforts on the Kepler Track.

After a leisurely 6 km walk (approximately 2.5 to 3 hours), you’ll emerge from the lush forest at Rainbow Reach. Here, you'll cross the Waiau River via an exciting swing bridge before returning to Te Anau by road, filled with memories of your incredible Fiordland adventure.

Difficulty: This is one of the easier guided walks we offer, and this walk is suitable for most people with a low-moderate fitness level. The walk is 6 km /4 miles in length. Walking time is 2 to 2.5 hours. On occasion, wet weather and cold conditions can make conditions more challenging. We operate in most weather conditions, so guests need to be suitably prepared. Clients who are not suitably prepared will not be allowed to participate.
